작지만 마당이 참 이뻤던 집. 부엌이 거실 쪽을 마주하고 있는 대면식 키친이 일본 집의 대표적인 특징이다.
큰 방에 두 공간을 수납장으로 나누어 부부침실과 아이들 침대/책상을 둔 것이 인상적.
일본은 요즘 다시 대가족으로 전환할지도 모른다는 전망이다.
가까운 곳에 부모와 자식 세대와 모여 살며 살림과 육아를 함께 나누고, 생활비를 절약하려는
저성장 시대의 반영인 셈.. 한 주택에 1층은 부모 세대, 2층은 자식 세대가 살며
생활 공간은 확실하게 분리하되 서로의 도움이 필요할 때 언제든지 함께 하는 생활방식이 지금 시대에
합리적이라 판단하는 가정이 많아지고 있다. 고독사와 고립된 주부의 육아현실이 오랫동안
일본 사회에 문제가 되어온 지금, 서로의 삶을 존중하며 함께 협력할 수 있는
새로운 형태의 대가족 상이 필요한 시대인 것만은 확실하다.

저도 지금 동경에서 싱글로 사는데 이젠 이런 집에서 가족을 꾸리고 살면 어떨까 하는 생각이 드네요. 자신은 많이 없지만...^^
